Chimaira: The infection
11/06/09 || Euthanatos
I wasn’t going to review this album at first, but then I thought, nothing like beating a dead horse, nothing like kicking a guy when he’s down, and best of all, nothing like spreading the gospel on STEER THE FUCK AWAY FROM SHITTY MUSIC.
Horse-shit, is what this is. See, some people just don’t fucking learn, and that pisses me off. You try to tell them, you try and be nice and give then a 2nd, a 3rd, a fucking billion chances, and they still manage to fuck it up. Well, fuck you, Chimaira.
I actually liked “Resurrection”, and that was a huge fucking surprise for me. I thought Chimaira was nothing more than a heap of new metal, band-wagon dipshits. But then came that tiny gem of an album and we all went, whoa, these guys have turned metal! They certainly went to the Dez-former-Coal-Chamber-I’m-sorry-I-invented-nu-metal school of regret and turn your life around. Chimaira were the perfect students, they made a solid piece of neo-thrash and was worth drooling over.
Now they’re back to square one. No, they haven’t gone back to the nu metal days of old, but they’ve gone back to shit nonetheless. Hell, much like Devildriver! Started promising, went to shit. Maybe that’s the life story of these guys, can’t be helped.
I don’t get a single moment of this album, what they’re trying to achieve or portray. It just sounds like they cut and paste a bunch of riffs and generic American metal vocals and hoped to God that no one would notice. Well, I fucking noticed, fucktards, so fuck you. This is a piece of shit album and you all god damn know it.
You’ve had your chance, Chimaira, kindly crawl back to the shithole you sprung out from and sit fucking quietly. And eat your peas. Fuckfaces.
Move along, move along, nothing to see here.
The cover: It’s very original. A real piece of art.
1 point more than you deserve for wasting people’s times out of 10.
